Brian Schenk – Archivist Emeritus Jenna McEachern – Archivist Angie Reeve, Librarian From 1925 to 1975, Austin High School was located at 1212 Rio Grande Avenue. Today that location is the Rio Grande Campus of the Austin Community College. The building had actually been built in 1915 as the John Allan Junior High School. Mr. Allen had made a major contribution to Austin schools in the 1890s, and the new building was constructed to provide additional opprtunities for girls and boys. Special programs in “manual training” and “domestic arts” were offered at the Rio Grande site in the early years.

Class of 1983…..It's time to party like it's 1983 at the AHS Class of '83 40th Reunion! From Football to Fiestas, it will be an AMAZING weekend!!

We'll start on Thursday, Nov 2, at the Austin High football game at House Park and carry the party over to The Tavern after the game.

On Friday, Nov 3, come eat delicious BBQ from Stacy Looney and the Sine Die Smokers with an after-party at the Speakeasy bar.

Saturday, Nov 4, is The Main Event at Santa Rita Cantina so come mingle with your fellow Alums and some legendary teachers, while enjoying another great Texas tradition: TexMex food and margaritas.

Last but not least, Sunday, Nov 5, will round out a great reunion weekend at The Central Market N. Lamar with a complimentary, family-friendly breakfast.
